We asked our current interns: What is doing an internship at the RWI Communications Department like?

Elina: Doing an internship at RWI has been a great learning experience for me, both in terms of skills and personal development. I have felt incredibly welcome in the comms team, and seen that my contributions and opinions have been valued. To feel that your work matters means a lot. The tasks have been versatile and challenging to a rewarding degree, with a good amount of responsibility and constant support from the team. All new communication and organisational skills I’ve gained will be useful to me in the future, and to learn so much about the human rights work around the world has been a bright light in these challenging times.

Kerime: It has been really fun and interesting to do an internship with the communications department at RWI! The tasks of the interns are diverse, from designing flyers and folders, to working with the international human rights programmes all around the world, and from making podcasts to developing the website. I have learnt a lot of new skills and feel really included and encouraged by the colleagues

Nadja: Fun and educative! I have really enjoyed the diversity of the tasks and getting the opportunity to develop many new skills – such as doing graphical design, animating videos and conducting interviews. Even as an intern, I have felt like an important part of the Communications Team as my opinions have always been valued and my ideas welcomed.

Through the internship, you will gain practical experience in communication work And be an integrated part of the communications team. You will also, from a communications perspective, become more familiar with the role that academic institutions play in promoting human rights – and hopefully have fun, too!
